Ceri Hughes

Mr Ceri Hughes BDS, FDSRCS, MBChB, FRCS(OMFS) is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with NHS and Private practice based in Bristol, South West of England.

Ceri obtained undergraduate degrees in dentistry and medicine from Guys Hospital Dental School and Bristol Medical school. He went on to complete training in Surgery in General, with posts in orthopaedics and general surgery leading to the FRCS(Ed) examination. He then returned to his parent specialty for a 5 year specialist training programme in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the South West of England.

He supplemented his training with a one year surgical fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at the prestigious Sydney Head & Neck Cancer Institute under the auspices of Professor Chris O’Brien. He completed his specialty training with the FRCS (OMFS), attaining the British association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Gold Medal.

Ceri is experienced in the whole remit of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and undertakes any surgery within the specialty. He has particular interest and experience in the treatment of Head and Neck cancer including oral cancer, thyroid disease, salivary gland disease and non melanoma skin cancer

He is involved with university teaching of both undergraduate and post graduate dental and medical students and has a number of publications in peer reviewed journals.
